In an effort to keep both our clients and staff safe during the COVID-19 crisis, we are limiting in-person appointments until further notice. This is done in compliance with the guidelines established by the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC) and WorkSafeBC. At this time we are offering teletherapy appointments by Skype, by Zoom, or by phone in addition to in-person appointments with restrictions (see below).
As with all our appointments, we aim to provide therapy that caters to your needs. With teletherapy, our goal is to provide an experience that matches in-person appointments as much as possible.
If you are a parent, you may need to assist your child in staying on task if they are unable to work independently. Alternatively, teletherapy can be done in the form of parent coaching. This is to give you activities to practice at home with your child and to check in on your child's progress.
Under the guidelines provided by CSHBC and WorkSafeBC, we are willing to offer in-person appointments with the following restrictions:
Even with these restrictions, in-person appointments carry risk. In-person appointments are recommended for clients who cannot do teletherapy sessions.
As of June 24th, 2020, British Columbia is in Phase 3 of its Restart Plan. Phase 4 of the recovery plan is contingent on: widespread vaccination, community immunity, and/or broad successful treatments. At this time, there is no clear indication of when this will be, but we are committed to ensuring you receive the care you need. Once BC officially moves to Phase 4, we will be able to remove the restrictions on our in-person appointments.
