We are willing to work with clients of all ages. Infants, toddlers, children, teenagers, adults, and seniors — everyone has something to say!
Appointments with an SLP involve some general evaluation, homework, as well as tips and tricks. Each appointment will be a therapy hour (50-minutes).
Appointments with an SLPA (Speech-Language Pathology Assistant) are only available to those who are first evaluated by one of our SLPs. In these appointments your child works on activities chosen by the SLP. The length and cost of these appointments are dependent on several factors. Please call our office for more information.
In these groups, your child can meet with other children their age to learn about different topics like how to make friends, how to cooperate with others, and how to have conversations.
If you are not a current client, you will need a 30-minute meeting with our SLP to determine whether your child would be a good fit for social groups. The social groups are 1-hour in length, meet bi-weekly or monthly, and cost $115. Regular monthly attendance is required to maintain your place in a social group.
Standardized assessments are offered as a complete package for $1,000. This covers the time for the assessment, the report, and a follow-up meeting. These formal assessments are recommended for people seeking a specific diagnosis (such as autism) and are not required for all new clients
Helping children acquire their first words, build longer sentences, and use a wider variety of vocabulary. We give you the tools to help your child communicate more effectively.
The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS®) or a communication app on the iPad may be useful tools to help someone communicate. We work on showing clients how to use these devices to help get their messages across.
Pronouncing sounds more clearly, particularly if there is a phonological delay or disorder or Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). We determine which sounds need to be practised and work on shaping speech clarity.
Stuttering is a lack of fluency, or a difficulty speaking without halting, getting stuck, or repeating sounds. This is often closely tied to anxiety. We provide you with the strategies to help you have more control when talking.
Following a stroke or brain injury, you or your loved one may have difficulty with language (Aphasia), the strength of the muscles involved in speech (Dysarthria), or coordination (Apraxia). Alternatively, due to your employment or medical condition, you may have developed a voice disorder (such as Dysphonia). We provide you with the exercises to regain lost functions.
We will also work with clients looking to work on Tongue Thrust, Literacy or Dyslexia, hearing loss, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Accent Reduction, or Transgender/Non-Binary Vocal Transformation. If you would like to work on something that is not listed on this page, please contact us for more information.
